About Me
My scrapbooking “start” has a very interesting and ironic beginning. Approximately seven years ago, my sister-in-law invited me to a friend’s home for a scrapbooking party. I had just “given away” a whole bunch of craft supplies that I had invested a lot of money in and I recall saying to her ”sorry, I’m not going because the last thing I need is another craft/hobby to blow more money on, get bored with, and then give it away again….” Well, you know how the saying goes… ”never say never”… seven years later I am proud to say “I am a scrapbookaholic”!
I have attended many scrapbooking retreats - my first was Camp Luther at Hatzic Lake in 2006, coincidently run by Michelle. I have also been to a few Creative Keepsakes Conventions, and am well known by local scrapbooking stores due to my frequent shopping excursions!
As my scrapbooking evolved, I decided to purchase a Cricut Expression die cutting machine. I was blown away by the “high markup” we scrapbookers were obliged to pay for Cricut cartridges and accessories. In 2010, I decided to start my own online business Love that Bug-Crafty Things, which specializes in sales of Cricut cartridges, accessories and machines at relatively low prices. Love that Bug-Crafty Things has also been taken on the road to several retreats; hosted successful fundraiser crops; and, offers wonderful “Cricut” classes taught by the very talented Brenda Johnson.
I am excited and ready to take on this new adventure with Scrapping Away. I look forward to organizing fun-filled getaways where the possibility of new friendships can be formed as we share our common love for preserving our dearest thoughts and memories on paper through scrapbooking!
